A while back I posted a link about determining your neighborhoods walkability with www.walkscore.com. CNN Money has published a study that indicates that neighborhoods that are more walkable are worth more. CNN even mentioned walkscore.
For those in or looking to be in the housing market walkscore would be a great tool to check out.

I just found an interesting website that ranks your areas walk-a-bility. Most of us prefer to drive around town, but with gas, and the popular shift to environmental things–who knows. I live near Travelers Rest SC. It gets a 72 out of 100. But you can also specifically search by your address to see just how close you are to places.

Lately I’ve been walking around the remarkably picturesque lake at Furman University. This is near the base of the Blue Ridge escarpment and the entire area is gorgeous.
