Last night I had the opportunity to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 3D. I often claim not to be a big fan of cinema. Really, that amounts to me not wanting to sit in a cramped theater and watch a movie that might or might not be any good.

Ice Age is the first movie in the 3D that I have seen in a regular cinema. Aside from that I have seen the Terminator show at Universal Studios in Florida. The 3D effect was enjoyable on the whole. Silly glasses added the price of another ticket to the pair of tickets I purchased for my wife and I. Slow motion animation looks great in 3D, however faster scenes lack clarity.

I wonder if live action movies would do poorly in 3D. I recall from the Terminator show at Universal that most of the 3D effects were digital, SO, how does real life come across in 3D. I’d like to know.
I will give this movie a tolerable 6/10. I have a very short attention span for movies. In addition, the real draw of this film was the third dimension. The movie is a stretch, but overall, not so bad.
